K&K Excavating has been a Top Tri-State Excavation Company for over 40 years. Describing K&K Excavating’s scope of work is hard because they pride themselves in their ability to do anything if it involves dirt. Whatever the customer wants is what they can do.
When childhood friends and now brother in-laws, Kevin Kiesel and Keith Naas, first started back on September 19th of 1978, they had no idea how large their operation would grow. They started with yard work, crawl spaces and retention ponds and they just kept growing and adding services from there. In just their second year they had some oil field jobs which really sparked the growth in their business.
The four decades that followed included a little bit of everything including utility installation, trucking and mass excavation. Their ability to offer a vast array of services has kept the company growing and expanding. In recent years they have handled large projects including a car dealership, highway work, and a subdivision just to name a few.
Never saying ‘No’ has proved to be beneficial to the business. Customers call K&K Excavating because they know nothing scares them. They aren’t afraid to put in the long hours to get the job done right.
In addition to excavating, K&K has 14 trucks they use for hauling dirt and heavy equipment for customers in 20 states from Missouri to New York.

Family plays an important role in this 40+ year business.
K&K Excavating has a long history, and like most companies with this many years under their belt, family is an integral part of the business model. Both Keith and Kevin’s wives, Kathy and Rita respectively have been involved with the business for many years. Keith’s sons, Stephen and Brian as well has his daughter Jamie also play key roles along with Kevin’s son Daniel and his daughter Kristy.
After 40 years the company is still going strong and growing. It’s easy to envision what the future of K&K Excavating will look like. The 2nd generation is fully involved in the every day aspects of the business and the third generation isn’t far behind. Keith and Kevin have put in a lot of work and a lot of hours to get K&K Excavating to where it is today and seeing both families continue to be passionate about the company is extremely rewarding.
